A brief history of ASU Women's Rugby:
The Arizona State University Women's Rugby club was formed in 1994. We won no games until a new coaching staff came on scene during our 1997-1998 season.
We have been conference champions four times in the past nine years.
We have been to the collegiate rugby Final Four once, the Elite Eight once, and the Sweet Sixteens twice in the past nine years.
We have had four players selected to represent the USA against England, France, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
We've had players selected to represent the USA in the 2003 World Cup in Barcelona, and in the international 7's play.
At least one ASU player has been selected as an All American every year since 1999
We recieve less than an average of $1000 annually from ASU budgets (in 2006/07 we received NOTHING), but we spend nearly $60,000 a year raised by parents, fundraisers, and sponsors.
No student who has competed in her Senior year has failed to graduate
Last season, we had two National Merit scholars and nine ASU Honors College students on the squad.
We have NEVER been beaten by the University of Arizona Women's team! In fact, we have never beaten them by less than 26 points!
